Wedding Table Favor Ideas that Commemorate
Remember the day your grandparents stopped giving you birthday or Christmas gifts, and started to give you cash instead? Sure, the green made you happy, and you certainly would not turn it down, but somehow, even thought the thought was the same, the gift seemed less special, like you had secretly stepped across some mile marker, never to return. Wedding table favors are kind of like those gifts you used to get; they take thought and are special, fun to explore and open and even more fun to take home.
The purpose of wedding table favor ideas is to say ‘thanks” to your guests while giving them something to remember you and your day with. You want them to be special and also say something about yourself, your spouse, your shared interests and/or your wedding theme. You can make them functional or just for fun. Most of all, you want them to keep your guests entertained while they wait for you and the wedding party to arrive at the reception.
Wedding table favor ideas come in an array of options. One practical idea is the Disposable Wedding Camera that lets guests take pictures of their reception experience that can later be collected and distributed via a CD to all the guests. Another idea is Bride and Groom Hounds Playing Cards, which are fun, functional and will keep most kids amused while they wait.
Other wedding table favor ideas include place cards / favors, wine stoppers and even cork screws (used in one wedding with a vineyard theme and wine tasting cocktail hour.) If your theme is sports related a good wedding favor is an article of that sport, like a golf tee or bowling ball (ok, too big, but you get the point.) Other themes, such as a nautical theme, can reflect ship or sea related articles, such as miniature lanterns, life preservers, deck chairs or boats.
In essence, your choices for wedding favors can be whatever you want them to be. They can follow your theme, or if you choose, they do not have to do so. They can be anything you want, inexpensive or pricey, practical, pretty, functional, silly or all of the above. They are what you want them to be and all they have to say is “thanks for sharing this most important and special day with me.”
